A3 Print - four designs

£20.00

Brand new to the shop - A3 prints! The bigger they are, the larger they are, and more really is more. Really takes up space. Printed beautifully and crisply onto smooth polished 200gsm archival card, signed at order by me. Designed for framing without the faff of a mount, and shipped hopefully unbent in a big flat board envelope (hence the cost increase).

Four designs, as follows:

THE ARGUMENT - digital colour over unconstructed ink drawing. Rival gangs of foxes gather in the park outside my house and loudly argue about their business. I imagine they are Renaissance Italian merchant families, and terrible dramas and plots unfold beneath the foxy moon.

HERMES - ink painting heightened with crayon, finished digitally. If you take cartridge pens on an airplane, it will explode. There is nothing you can do to dissuade this. Hermes the Thrice-Crowned thrives in this liminal, fluid, unpredictable milieu.

CHALKPIT - gouache and crayon with ink wash, cleaned digitally. I started out with construction lines of a study of Dionysus in the Cherry Hinton chalk pits (which you can still see in the centre top of the image, under the sun). I don't know what I have painted here. Left is a medlar tree; right is a blackthorn.

DREAMING - gouache, ink and crayon over acrylic waste, painted on the plane after my rabbit died. The man next to me watched me paint it and cried silently to himself. We both cried.
