ELAGABAL zine

£5.00

Elagabalus was a short-lived Emperor of the Roman Empire whose legacy as a decadent gender anarchist lives with us yet, against all efforts of their contemporaries. This zine is an exploration of the modern and contemporary interrogations of their gender, and how it related to their religious convictions and ethnicity.

When you read this, I want you to think about modern categorisations of gender, transness and sexuality, and ask yourself what (and who) is lost when we insist on neat, prescribed identifications for ourselves.

A5 size, 13 pages of digital and analogue collage and prose poetry. Printed sustainably in the UK on 135gsm recycled paper.
